Disability Pride PA

The award winning celebration of Disability Pride PA is back. Disability Pride Philadelphia is in its ninth year and the longest running Disability Pride parade in the United States. This year we celebrate virtually again! Disability Pride Virtual PA will take place June 21-30, 2021. Last year, 35 states and 22 countries participated in the celebration. Alex Cohen and Andy Burstein will be attending and running a workshop!

We kick off on June 21st with Opening Ceremonies with a virtual flag raising with national anthem in ASL, guest speakers include Governor Tom Wolf, Lt Governor John Fetterman, Senator Bob Casey, State Representatives Joseph Hohenstein and Jessica Benham, Philadelphia Councilmember Derek Green, Philadelphia’s Executive Director of the Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities Amy Mathewson Millar, Rodney Robinson Jr of Gateway Health, Disability Advocates from across the state including Libby Powers, Alexa Brill, and Misty Dion. We will finish off with a virtual parade of photos from years prior.

Please register at bit.ly/DisabilityPride2021. Once registered you will receive emails daily with the day’s event links. ASL interpreters and auto-captions are standard at every event, while making individual accommodations as requested. A selection of events will be live streamed to the Disability Pride PA Facebook and/or YouTube channel.
